I’m Audrey, the creative behind Things Unseen Designs. I believe that everyone is creative, and my mission is to spark the creativity in all of us.
My specialties include watercolor, modern calligraphy, and education. I want to work with you to help bring your visions come to life, or teach you how to do it yourself! I teach watercolor (and soon calligraphy!) workshops in the Chicago suburban areas and online as a Skillshare teacher. Attend one of my upcoming classes or invite me to your next gathering!
I come from a family with creative roots. Both of my paternal grandparents were painters, my grandmother specifically with watercolors. Both of my parents have a fondness for music and the arts. Growing up, I played classical piano, attended choir, and frequented museums.
When my grandmother passed away in May 2016, I wanted to honor her memory by bringing back the creative side in me. It started with the bullet journal (because I’m also obsessed with planners and being organized), then handlettering/calligraphy, and then watercoloring. By the end of 2016, I wanted to continue on in this journey. And what you see now is the result of it.
I am constantly inspired by nature, my faith, travels, fine art, and interactions with people. Through my shop, instagram, and blog, you’ll see how the inspiration comes to life. The meaning behind the name “Things Unseen Designs” comes from the Bible, specifically 2 Corinthians 4:16-18. This is my life verse, and I believe that the things that are eternal are the things unseen. So through my art and designs, I hope to move you beyond what you see physically with your eyes so that you can feel with your heart.
These days, I enjoy going on nature adventures with my husband, John. And relaxing on the couch with our cat, Aslan. I’m obsessed with avocados, and can’t go a day without coffee.
I love getting to know people, so feel free to chat with me!
Thank you for visiting Things Unseen Designs, and I hope that you have a blessed day.
